Rose Manor B&B

Rose Manor is located Harbour Grace, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada.

Your hosts – Lucy and Kevin Haire purchased an elegant historic home, renovated it and turned it into a luxurious inn which they have named Rose Manor Inn in honor of Kevin's mother, Rose.

For more than 400 years, the town's large harbour, which Rose Manor overlooks, has welcomed visitors from all over the world. Historic stories abound. Within a short walk is the Conception Bay Museum which is built on the site where Peter Easton, an infamous pirate, built his fort in 1612.

Rose Manor has its own history. This Second Empire Style home was built in 1878 for Thomas R. Bennett who, at the time, was the Speaker of the House of Assembly in St. John's.

Rose Manor is built on a large ocean front property, so you will enjoy a unobstructed view of the harbour in its many moods. The house is surrounded by one acre of beautiful gardens and large old trees including a splendid 200-year-old cherry tree.

There's plenty of history to explore and ample room to walk, talk, relax, and enjoy the ocean view in town's Heritage District.

During the summer of 2008, we were proud to introduce our elegant new Rose Room. Our guests have called it luxurious, opulent, elegant, and lovely beyond belief. It is perfect for a honeymoon, anniversary, or a weekend get-a-way. Photographer Dennis Flynn has captured the warmth and elegance of the room for all to enjoy.

The names of our other guest rooms speak to the more than 400 year history of the town. The Peter Easton Suite is named for the notorious pirate who made his headquarters in Harbour Grace in the early 1600s. The Amelia Earhart Suite is named for American aviation pioneer, who visited Harbour Grace in 1932. The SS Kyle Suite is named for the famous vessel moored in Harbour Grace since 1967. The Bennet Suite is named for Thomas R. Bennett who had the house constructed in 1878.
